Quotes The dharma that is taught and the dharma that is experienced are descriptions of how to live, how to use your life to wake you up rather than put you to sleep. And if you choose to spend the rest of your life trying to find out what awake means and what asleep means, I think you might attain enlightenment. Endurance is one of the most difficult disciplines, but it is to the one who endures that the final victory comes. – The Buddha There are some who wish to perfect themselves and who train themselves in this way: "One single self we shall tame, one single self we shall pacify, one single self we shall lead to final nirvana." But those with compassion should not train themselves in such a way. On the contrary, they should say this: "My own self I will place into Suchness, and so that all the world may be helped, I will place all beings into Suchness, and I will lead to nirvana the whole immeasurable world of beings." -Diamond Sutra Human greatness lies in being able to remake themselves and then they will be the change they wish to see in the world. -Mahatma Gandhi |

December 2008 Some email applications block images but you can click here to view the online version. Dear Friends, Welcome to the December issue of Higher Vibrations! As things continue to change around the world and in this country, I believe that it is a time to see that the world is conspiring in our favor, not against us. That things will work out for our highest good and that we are safe. Remember to focus on what you want in your life, not on what you don’t want. “The best way to predict your future is to create it.” -Unknown Sometimes we see only part of what is happening and at other times we may see all that is happening, but not understand what it means. Use this time to gain perspective and to share your light with others. Be with people who lift you up and celebrate you, just the way you are. Around the world, many different holidays are celebrated during the month of December. Whether you are celebrating a particular holiday or not it is always important to show those people closest to you, how much they mean to you. This does not require any money, only the willingness to act from your heart. These are the most meaningful gifts you can give now or anytime. Remember you can tell someone you love him or her, but it is through your actions that shows them. Without the action, the words begin to lose their power. This month’s featured article is The Golden Purpose. Please help me by forwarding this e-newsletter to the people you feel will benefit from this information. May the miracles of everyday life fill your heart with joy, your mind with peace and may love abound in your life in these miraculous and amazing times. FEATURE ARTICLE:
The Golden Purpose I went to a party the other night and ran into Elaine, my editor for these articles. She asked if I had written December’s article yet and I told her that I did not have a topic. Later after one of the yoga teachers had given a talk on the purpose of yoga; Elaine said, why don’t you write about the purpose of life? And here I thought that the purpose of yoga talk had been a lofty talk. You know she really irritates me sometimes by questioning what I write or telling me it makes no sense or giving me great suggestions for topics like this one, which scares the crap out of me. How can I possibly write about the purpose of life? What gives me the credentials to tackle such a profound and daunting question? Well I have learned that our fears are nothing more than a state of mind and the only way to get past them is to face them head on or sometimes you step around them and run like heck. Therefore, I am hitting the ground running with this one. As far as the credentials go, I guess we are all working on a Ph.D. in living life and I have been studying very hard for many years, as you have also. When thinking about “What is the purpose of life?” many questions arise, for example Is there a… continueIf you havr problems with the link above please cut and paste into your browser. http://spiralrelease.com/articles/TrojanHorses.htm This article was written by Tim Custis and edited by Elaine Baskin
About the Global Healing Circle Our mission is to create a safe and healing environment for those who wish to connect with others while exploring their own path in life. We do not practice religion but draw from our own life experiences so we may come together as equals to foster the growth of who we are as human and spiritual beings. We seek to learn about ourselves for the betterment of our lives, relationships and for the healing of our planet. We do this with the understanding that changing the world first begins with changing ourselves.
The Global Healing Circle was created with my friend Suzy Baldwin we will encourage you to participate more in the process of creating your life by releasing blocks, setting new goals and reaching for new heights. We believe that your potential as an individual, and our potential as a global community, is unlimited. Those who choose to join our circle will be part of a process that is ever-changing and ever-evolving to meet the needs of the group. Individually, we will explore, honor, and learn from our differences. United, we will connect, inspire, and reach for something greater than that which we currently know. Come try us out. Do as much or as little as you like. Share, only, if and when you’re ready. If it feels like home, stay awhile. If it does not, we thank you for your time and consideration, and send you blessings as you travel onward. Whoever, wherever you are, we honor you as part of the whole. The meetings are free and everyone is welcome. So if you are ready, we invite you to join us. Dates and time listed below.
